Flat Stanley in The Land of Wishes

Flat Stanley ran out to greet Alexa as she came down the giant stairs of the school bus with a big smile! It was a happy reunion with a lot of hugs and smiles.

When they walked up the driveway to the house together, Flat Stanley’s eyes lit up with sparkles of excitement and he  said to Alexa, “look at all those wishes in your yard!”

Flat Stanley jumped down in the middle of the wishes!  Then, you wouldn’t believe what happened, but Nana got a picture of it, so we have proof.

If you look really close, you can see the wasp that landed on his left hand.  Thankfully, it was a friendly wasp, and he didn’t sting Flat Stanley.  Thet would have hurt!

Alexa picked him up and picked the biggest wish making Dandelion from the yard.  She closed her eyes and held Flat Stanley close…and then she made her wish.

What do you think Alexa wished for?

If wishes come true, I think she wished for a fun day with Nana, Papa, Flat Stanley and the family.

Flat Stanley smiled really big for the camera as Alexa caught him climbing up the dogwood tree to smell the flowers.  Did you know that the Dogwood tree is recognized as THE Virginia state tree?

Then Alexa got her bike and fancy safety helmet from the garage.

Alexa put Flat Stanley in her bicycle pouch and rode like the wind down the little side street.  Flat Stanley started singing.

“Ride, ride like the wind…” As he felt the wind blowing through his hair.

They passed Alexa’s sister Jaida on her pogo stick.  It was a beautiful day for playing outside.

Nana was delighted to spend this afternoon in the warm Virginia springtime, outside with Flat Stanley and her grandloves.

After Alexa’s brother  Jake scared Nana with his tricks on his bicycle, Jake and Jaida continued to worry Nana with their skateboard tricks. These. Kids!

The smiles couldn’t be bigger here in Virginia!  I hope this finds you smiling too!  Thanks for subscribing and sharing Flat Stanley’s Adventures with your friends and family.

Flat Stanley at Play with the Pets

Auntie Elaine and Uncle Jimmy have a lot of pets.  None of the pets make breakfast for them, but Flat Stanley had fun playing with them during their visit.

Henry the dog has a favorite stuffed toy.  His name is “Rocky the Racoon.”

Flat Stanley was sitting on the couch and Henry came running up with “Rocky” dangling from his little mouth.  He dropped the stuffed toy at Flat Stanley’s feet.

Then Henry waited a bit less than patiently for Flat Stanley to toss the toy, again and again.

This wore Henry out!  Henry needed a nap!

Papa and Auntie Elaine were laughing with Nana when Riley, their cat, curled up INSIDE Papa’s slippers!  He was too big to fit all of the way inside, but it was funny to watch him try!

It seemed to be nap time for all of the pets.  Uncle Jimmy and Papa then decided to join in on the Sleepytime Festival and went into Dreamland too.

Penny the cat wasn’t sleeping, but she wasn’t much fun either.  She turned away when Flat Stanley threw Rocky the Racoon.  She was not amused.

And then the fish didn’t want to play with Flat Stanley either.

Flat Stanley is good at finding his own fun as you know and this day was no exception!  He went for a little walk outside and found himself in the middle of a pink flamingo oasis!

Yehaadoodledeeeeee!!!! Flat Stanley hollered as he rode the wild beasts.  Yippeeekayayyyyyy up up and away!!

Flat Stanley has an imagination dreams are made of.  It keeps him smiling.

I hope this finds you smiling too!  Please subscribe and thank you for sharing Flat Stanley’s Adventures with your friends and family.

Wild Morning for Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley had a pretty wild morning today.  Nana and Papa were still upstairs, but Flat Stanley heard the working crew building next door, so he went out to see if they needed any help.

Boy did they!  They had all the wooden pieces they call “forms” up where the basement of Nana and Papa’s new home will be.  Then they had not just one but TWO cement trucks pouring cement into the “forms” to create the concrete basement walls.

The concrete crew is very nice. They were thankful to have Flat Stanley’s help.  But after some very tiring labor, Flat Stanley was ready for some fun!  You know how Flat Stanley loves to have fun.

There were a lot of slanted boards placed here and there to hold the “forms” in place.  Flat Stanley liked to use them as slides.  Then the workermen would help him back up to the top of the wall and dowwwwwn he’d slide again.

After the concrete set up and dried.  Flat Stanley helped the crew remove the “forms” and there all by itself stood the walls for Nana and Papa’s new basement.  VIOLA!!

They had all the tools loaded and were washing down the concrete slide, er, I mean ramp.  Uncle Jimmy used to do this work and said that the ramp can get REALLY heavy to clean and disassemble if you don’t get to it quick enough and the concrete starts to harden.

But the man Flat Stanley just referred to as “Santa” let Flat Stanley help him get it taken apart and loaded on the big truck.

But then we had a problem.  With all of the rain we’ve been having in Massachusetts, the big truck all loaded down with the supplies, got stuck!  It was stuck across the driveway!

“Flat Stanley to the Rescuuuuue” he shouted as he ran over to help get the truck out of the muddy muck.

He huffed, puffed and pushed, but, the truck was too big for him to push.  The truck was sitting diagonally across the driveway when ANOTHER truck came to fill Nana and Papa’s oil tank.  Oh is this a crazy day!  Thankfully, there’s another driveway on the other side of the yard, so Flat Stanley ran over to guide the oil truck driver in.

A lot of homes use oil to heat their homes in Massachusetts.  This man helps keep people warm in the winter…and this year, warm in the springtime.  Do you see that snow on the ground?!  Yes, it IS snowing on April 19th!

After the oil was filled, Flat Stanley went back to help the driver of the big equipment truck out of the mud.  He layed some of the diagonal boards under the tires to give them traction and OFF they went to the next job!

Flat Stanley saved the day!  He was excited to run inside and tell Nana and Papa all about his morning adventures.  Nana and Papa were smiling at the retelling of his huffing and puffing to get the truck out of the muck.

I hope this finds you smiling too!  If so, please subscribe, so Nana can send you an email whenever a new Flat Stanley Adventure is posted!

Flat Stanley Gets Hurt

Flat Stanley woke up this morning and wanted to surprise Nana again by gathering the fresh eggs from the coop and feeding the chickens for her before she came downstairs for her coffee.

When he stepped outside, he saw that ice and some snow had covered the yard and walkway.  Between patches of ice, were the stepping stones.  Flat Stanley looked at the path as a challenge, a hopscotch trail challenge!

“Hoppity hoppity, Boop Boop Boop!!!!!”

Jumping down the path he aimed for the dry patches of rocks on the walkway as he chanted, “Hoppity hoppity Boop Boop BOOOoooooooop…, OUCH!” ooohh Flat Stanley didn’t make the last rock of safety and landed on ice instead.

Down he went so fast, he wasn’t able to protect himself very well.  It just all happened so fast.  It hurt bad.  He went in the house and found Nana making her coffee.

“Nanaaahhhh…”

When I looked over I could see Flat Stanley was hurt.  His lip was bright red and there was a scratch on his knee and scuffs on his clothes.

“Oh, come here honey and let’s get some ice on that lip of yours.”  Nana knew he had fallen hard and was worried that his lip was going to swell up like a balloon.

The bag of corn in the freezer will make a great ice pack.

I layed Flat Stanley down on the couch and wiped his teary eyes.  Then I gave him the frozen bag of corn to place on his lip.

“This will hurt a little at first Flat Stanley, but then you’ll begin to get numb and won’t feel the pain.  It will help your lip from swelling too much as well.”

Flat Stanley carefully placed the bag up to his lip looking at Nana, and hoping it wouldn’t hurt too very much.

It did hurt a little when he touched the frozen bag of corn to his lip, but after a while, like Nana promised, it began to get numb and not hurt anymore.

I put the TV on and let Flat Stanley browse through the stations.  When he came across “Mighty Machines,” he was all set. This is a show he likes, but one that won’t make him laugh too much.  It hurt too much to smile.

Flat Stanley had to be careful with what he ate, so he didn’t hurt his lip too much.  He loves applesauce, so I brought him a cup, and he found he could eat that without hurting his now puffy lip.

Flat Stanley has a hard time not smiling, even when it hurts.  He’ll feel better soon with Nana’s care.

I hope your smiles don’t hurt and that you enjoy your day.  Stay safe!  New England is not a fun place to be this “spring.”

This post is dedicated to my granddaughter Alexa.  I heard you fell off your bicycle and hurt your lip.  I hope you’re feeling better and that it doesn’t hurt when you smile now. 😘 Nana and Papa love you.

Please subscribe if you’d like Nana to send an email to you to see what Flat Stanley is up to tomorrow.  It’s a fun distraction for kids when you’re in a waiting room or at a restaurant and your child gets fidgety, you pull out your phone and say, “Let’s see what Flat Stanley did today!” Thank you for sharing “Flat Stanley Adventures” eBook blog with your friends and family.

Flat Stanley Enjoys Time with Papa

Today, Flat Stanley enjoyed some time with Papa!

Flat Stanley and Papa just cruised in the car for much of the day.  Papa likes to turn up the music and they were singing the blues together.  Papa had to put his dark sunglasses on for the “coolness” factor.

“Dark glasses are a must when cruising in the car singing the Blues,” Papa told him.

We were jammin’ to Ray Charles as we cruised down the boulevard.  “Georgia, ooohhh Georgia, Georgia’s on my mind…”

Papa took Flat Stanley out for a nice lunch at Chili’s.  As we all know, Papa likes the spice!  But this time he kept in line with the southern blues line of food and went for the ribs!  Flat Stanley enjoyed an enormous plate of chicken fajitas.  They came out on a sizzling hot plate that was kind of scary, but Flat Stanley was very careful not to burn himself.

He liked the green guacamole and sour cream rolled up with chicken in the wraps they give you.

Flat Stanley started rappin’ to the beat.  The music in Chili’s is pretty loud and they were playing some upbeat music that had Flat Stanley a hoppin’ in his seat!

There was a really cool gaming system on the table and Flat Stanley wanted to play!  Papa found a video game that asks questions and he had to choose between four answers.  They call it “trivia,” and I’d agree…it was trivial!  But Papa has a lot of little weird information stored up in that brain of his, just like Nana.

“So, that’s why you like that Millionaire game so much,” Flat Stanley said after he did the millionaire tune while Papa tried to figure out the answers .. “do do do do, do do do.. bum bumm bumm bum bump bump BUMP!”

Flat Stanley chose the Creepy Spiders game!  It was fun.  While he was playing, the waitress came over and asked if they wanted dessert.  Papa has been so good at being careful with his diet, but Flat Stanley wanted that lava cake soo so badly!

Papa smiled at the waitress and Flat Stanley, who were both waiting for his response.

“Yes, Flat Stanley can have his cake, and I’ll steal just ONE bite.”

Papa caved.  It’s hard not to give in to Flat Stanley’s cute, pleading eyes.

Flat Stanley was wiping his chocolate covered face with the back of his sleeve, as they left the restaurant.

It was a fun day with Papa!  Flat Stanley was smiling his big beautiful smile!  I hope this finds you smiling too!  If so, please subscribe, so that Nana can send you an email when a new Flat Stanley Adventure is posted.

Flat Stanley Goes Shopping

Grocery shopping is never a fun task, unless of course Flat Stanley comes along!

Nana always starts off in the produce section.  She loves her fresh fruit.  Flat Stanley loves fresh fruit too!  His favorite as you know is cantaloupe, so Nana bought a nice ripe one.

What’s your favorite Fruit?

While Nana was picking out some fresh herbs and getting carrots, Flat Stanley climbed up on the pineapple bin and began singing in a high pitched wail:

“Pineapple princess, he calls me pineapple princess all day, as he plays his ukulele on the hill above the bay.  Pineapple princess, I love you, you’re the sweetest girl I’ve seen.  Some day we’re gonna marry and you’ll be my pineapple queen.”

Nana didn’t even flinch.  She’s getting used to his silly ways.  She actually just continued shopping, shaking her head.  Other shoppers seemed to enjoy his singing, so he continued on.

Nana was three isles up when Flat Stanley thought of a trick.  He went up the next isle where Nana was heading, where the cereals were, he squeezed his body in tight next to Nana’s favorite.

When Nana came upon the cereal isle she was wondering where Flat Stanley had gone off to and was just about to turn around to go find him when she spotted her favorite cereal box.  She reached up to grab it and out popped Flat Stanley, making her shout in surprise!

“Flat Stanley!!  You got me!”  He’s so good at hiding in tight spaces.

Nana continued on and stocked up on milk and bread for the family.

As they were checking out and Nana was putting her groceries on the conveyor belt, Flat Stanley jumped onto the candy shelf.

“Pleeeeeease Nana, pleeease can I have one, just one?!” Flat Stanley asked in his voice that’s sweeter than candy.

Nana couldn’t resist his sweet voice. “Yes, you can have a candy bar,” she said.

Which candy bar do you think Flat Stanley selected?

Which one is your favorite?

Papa’s favorite is an Almond Joy, Nana’s is a Kit Kat, but Flat Stanley chose the M&M’s.  He likes the one’s without the nuts, because he’s quite nutty enough.

Flat Stanley left the store smiling with his bag of M&M’s in his hand.

I hope this finds you smiling too!

Enjoy your day and please subscribe so Nana can send an email when a new Flat Stanley Adventure is posted.

Flat Stanley Goes to Colorado

Flat Stanley had a really boring day yesterday. Nana and Papa were buried neck deep in paperwork (not really, but they were really busy with stacks of papers all around them).  They were doing what they called taxes and had no time to play or go anywhere.

Nana and Papa’s friend Shinae called and asked if Flat Stanley would like to go to Colorado with her.

“Flat Stanley, would you like to go to Colorado with Shinae tomorrow?” Nana asked.

“Shinae? The lady with the crazy laugh and funny dance?”  Flat Stanley asked.

Nana giggled at Flat Stanley’s description.

“I’d love to see Colorado! But where is Colorado?” Flat Stanley asked. Shoot at this point if someone asked him to go to the dump he would have jumped up for joy!  He was so bored!

Nana Showed Flat Stanley Colorado on a map.  Can you find the little state of Massachusetts?  That’s a long way to travel!

Shinae was excited to spend some time with Flat Stanley and Flat Stanley was thrilled!  She bought his ticket and they were all set to travel!  See his name?

Flat Stanley loves to ride on the airplane.

Looking DOWN on clouds is really fun!  The sun was setting and going to sleep, right into the clouds.  Flat Stanley was glad when the sun went down, because it was kind of hurting his eyes.  The sunset hues on the horizon were really pretty after the sun set.

When they landed, it was really late.  Flat Stanley looked up at a clock and saw that it said 9:30PM in the airport in Colorado.  Flat Stanley looked at his watch and it said 11:30PM.

“Shinae, I think the clocks are wrong here,” Flat Stanley said.

“Shinae laughed her crazy laugh and explained that as you travel east and west, that the time changes.  There’s eastern standard time, pacific standard time and Colorado is in the Mountain Time Zone in the middle of the country.

“There are a lot of mountains here! When we were flying over them and coming in for a landing, I thought we were going to pop the top right off one of the mountains.” Flat Stanley exclaimed.

This is going to be a fun time, Flat Stanley does keep you smiling, Shinae was thinking.  She held Flat Stanley’s hand to keep him close through the busy airport.  They picked up their bags from the carousel and Flat Stanley went to hop on for a ride.  It goes round and round like a merry go round!  Shinae was quick to keep him safely by her side.

After a great night’s sleep in the hotel, Shinae woke up really early and asked Flat Stanley if he wanted to go hiking with her.

“Can we wait for the sun to come up before we go?” Flat Stanley asked.

“We’ll go down for breakfast first and then the sun will come up before we go out.” Shinae replied.

Flat Stanley was tired from the flight but the thought of orange juice and pancakes got him up.

After he had his breakfast his muscles and body were awake and he was ready to HIKE!  Flat Stanley brought his knees up as high as he could, one and then the other to work out the sleepy kinks and get ready for his hike!

They drove to what they call the Paint Mines.  The colorful clay formations look like a monster giant took a paintbrush and created a beautiful piece of art.

Shinae is a fast walker!  Flat Stanley’s little legs struggled to keep up with her, but she was determined to go the full 2 miles.  As they were walking along the brightly colored, clayish rocks, in shades of yellow, red, grey, and white, Shinae told him the story about how Native Americans used to mine for pigments and supplies for making pottery on these very grounds.  Flat Stanley was picturing himself with a mining pick in hand.

Flat Stanley was tired after their hike and enjoyed the ride in the car.

“Next we’re going to Seven Falls!” Shinae told Flat Stanley.  “It’s a place where seven waterfalls cascade down mountain cliffs.”

Flat Stanley was so giddy, he loves the sound of waterfalls crashing down the mountains.  When they parked the car, Shinae took him from his trusted cup holder seat and he ran to the base of the stairs.

The stairs were so steep and tall and there were 224 steps to the top!

“Do you think you can do this Flat Stanley?” Shinae asked.

Like the little engine that could, Flat Stanley replied, “I think I can, I think I can…” and they began to climb.  Flat Stanley was counting each and every step as they climbed.  When they got to 145 steps he had to stop for a rest on the platform.

Shinae wasn’t even out of breath!  She must do this hiking thing a lot!  She was being silly while Flat Stanley was resting.  She started in on her silly dance routine.  With her arms straightened she moved her hips from one side to the other and forward and backwards through her arms.  Flat Stanley was giggling at Shinae.  She is fun!

Then they started to climb once again.

“I think I can, I think I can…” Flat Stanley grunted out in a tired and slower drawl.  It sounded like Flat Stanley’s motor may be stalling out, but he kept climbing.

“Flat Stanley you MADE IT!!!!” Shinae was so happy for him.

The view of the waterfalls from up high above them was absolutely beautiful!  His little legs were tired and wobbly, but Flat Stanley’s smile was bright and beautiful.

I hope you’re smiling too!  Now Nana has the tune that will play through her head all day today. “I think I can, I think I can…”

Enjoy your day and keep smiling!  If you subscribe, Nana will send you an email whenever a new Flat Stanley Adventure is posted!

Flat Stanley Goes to Fairy Land

It was a magical morning for Flat Stanley…

He was looking through a small hole, as if in a little bird house.  Looking out, he could see Alexa there!  She had a paintbrush in her hand.  It was a fairly broad wide brush and she was painting the base board brown.  Flat Stanley could hear a lot of people in the room, they were laughing and listening to what sounded like an instructor giving lessons, ideas and direction.

Through the small hole Flat Stanley could see Alexa was very serious about the task at hand.  As she was picking out her seashells and putting them ever so carefully in place, Flat Stanley heard the magic words…Fairy Garden!

“When you create your fairy garden,” the instructor explained, “you’re creating magic. For it is within the fairy garden that fairies feel safe to come out and play.”

Flat Stanley wondered if he had turned into a fairy, because he definitely wanted to come out and play!  So he did!  He squeezed through the little peep hole while she was carefully painting the little bird house with her pink colored paintbrush.

Alexa was very surprised to see Flat Stanley come out of the fairy garden she was creating!  She gave him a big hug and then let him help her place the special charms back on the house.  Because you see, when he popped out, the little butterfly charm at the top of the eve and the little key below his hidaway hole fell off.  So, they fixed it together.

The instructor allowed Alexa and Flat Stanley to use some of her teal paint to create a wading pool for the fairy’s to play in.  She and Flat Stanley created waves with a lighter color.  This was FUN!

Alexa’s sister Jaida and their Mom Shana and grandma Christa were all making their own little fairy gardens.  Flat Stanley had to help Auntie Shana put her cranberry strand back in place after he swung high and wide from the top of her magical fairy garden!

After they were all finished creating their masterpieces, Flat Stanley took a nice picture of all of them, with their magical creations…where fairies reside and hide.

Next thing Flat Stanley knew he was dancing.  Flat Stanley loves to dance!  He was dancing with Alexa!  He started Breakdancing!  The music was loud the beat was thumping through his bones and he was so happy!

…and then Flat Stanley woke up.

IT WAS ALL A DREAM!  A wonderful beautiful magical dream!  Flat Stanley shut his eyes really tight to see if he could return to his magical dream with Alexa…but no.  He was awake, hungry and needed to use the restroom.

Have you ever had a dream that you loved so much, you really hoped that closing your eyes and trying to get back to sleep would return you to the same dream?

Although he couldn’t return to the land of fairies, he was happy to tell Nana all about his magical dream over breakfast.  He made Nana smile.

I hope you’re smiling too!  If you’d like Nana to deliver a smile to your email box every day then please subscribe and let others know about Flat Stanley’s Adventures!  Everyone could use a smile delivered to them daily!

Flat Stanley Plays “Digger Dan”

Flat Stanley got up really early today.  Long before Nana and Papa made their coffee, he ran outside to watch the workermen play in the dirt.

Digger Dan was using the monstrous claw machine to dig a hole in the earth that will one day be the basement in Nana and Papa’s new home.

Flat Stanley’s heart was racing and he was so excited when Digger Dan hollered over at him to join him in the big machine!  He ran over the big rocks that Digger Dan had pulled out of the raw hole in the ground and then climbed up on the loud, rumbling machine and into the controllers cabin!

Flat Stanley got to use the controls to pick up dirt from the gigantic hole and then drive the digger machine over to the mountain of dirt and dump the claw of dirt on top of the growing mountain.  Back and forth, time and time again he’d go.

This is when the song hit him and came bubbling up and out of his mouth in his usual high pitch.

“Dig it uh oh oh
Dig it
Dig it uh oh oh, (oh)”

Digger Dan let him know really nicely that Flat Stanley was kind of hurting his ears; but Flat Stanley persisted.  Digger Dan soon found himself singing along with him and enjoying the silly song!

“Dig it uh oh oh
Dig it
Dig it uh oh oh, (oh)”

They sang together.

Nana came out to find Flat Stanley up on top of a giant pile of dirt in the clawed digger machine!  They were trying to get a heavy piece of bedrock out of the crazy big hole in the earth, and it was making the whole digger machine rock back and forth with only the claw itself providing some balance.

Digger Dan looked over and knew I was worried about the little cutout cutie rocking it at the controls.  So, he had Flat Stanley ride the big machine off of the mountain of dirt and Nana brought Flat Stanley inside for breakfast.

“I got to BE “Digger Dan!” he exclaimed with excitement.  “He let me move the lever controls and everything!”  “Nana, did you know that the cabin spins in circles if you turn it around and around?”

Flat Stanley went on with his chatter throughout breakfast.  He was one happy boy today!

After breakfast, Flat Stanley looked out of the window and saw snow flying!  Yes, snow in April! “Nana! Look!!” Flat Stanley shouted.

“When is spring coming?  I’m ready for tulips and forsythia flowers!” I replied in utter disbelief as I finished up the morning dishes watching the snow fly out the window.  “This is one crazy spring!”

Unfortunately, the snow made the grounds and dirt piles turn to mud and started clogging up the machinery, so the workermen had to leave.

Flat Stanley couldn’t wipe the smile from his face all day though, it was such an exciting morning!  The song in his heart stayed with him all day long.

“Dig it uh oh oh
Dig it
Dig it uh oh oh, (oh)”

It was kind of catchy, even Nana found herself singing the tune after putting Flat Stanley to bed with a beautiful smile that wouldn’t leave his face.  His smile was catchy.  She left his room smiling too.

I hope Nana and Flat Stanley made you smile today!  If you’d like a smile delivered daily, please Subscribe, so Nana can send you an email whenever a new Flat Stanley Adventure is posted.

Flat Stanley tries Vietnamese Food

Flat Stanley woke up just knowing  that the weather was starting to turn nicer.

“Today is Opening Day for the Boston Red Sox!” Nana exclaimed.  She loves her Boston Red Sox.  She’s trying to make Briana a fan, but, well, we’ll see.  Maybe someday.  Flat Stanley loves watching baseball with Nana and Papa.

Today, Nana and Papa surprised Flat Stanley by telling him that they were taking him out for lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant before the big game.  They were meeting their friends Chris and Shinae after a long winter.  Nana and Papa call winter “hibernation station months.” They act like bears and stay inside most of the winter.

They’re lucky because they have Auntie Terri, Ty, Briana and Flat Stanley to help them shovel out the snow and provide clear passage for mail trucks and deliveries.  They even get their food shipped in during the winter months.  A very nice UPS lady delivers paper goods, shampoo and stuff.  The delivery lady loves getting fresh eggs when she comes to the door.  All of the delivery people love the fresh eggs from our chickens.

Flat Stanley found his favorite seat in the cup holder of the car and they made their way to the restaurant.  It was called My Sister’s Crawfish!  That’s a funny name for a Vietnamese restaurant.

Nana ordered curried goat!  EW!!  Flat Stanley is very adventurous and tries ALMOST everything, but he had to draw the line at curried goat.  He did however try Shinae’s Avocado smoothie when she offered him a sip.

It was DELICIOUS!!  Smooth, creamy, sweet and yummy!  Flat Stanley snuck a few more sips when Shinae wasn’t looking.

Flat Stanley decided to order the chicken noodle “PHO” soup that the nice waitress recommended for him.  He enjoyed it and slurped it all down! “Slurrrrrrp, Slurrrrrp” YUM!

There was a lot of laughter at the table and plenty of time for Stanley to sneak sips.  He liked the hot tea too, but the smoothie was sweet and creamy; he just couldn’t help himself to more and more.

Papa was being EXTRA silly with his messy shrimp.  He really enjoyed his meal, you can tell by the red spiced beard!

Papa tried kissing Nana, but she was having NONE of that!

While they were being silly, Flat Stanley snuck away…

He found what they call a fortune tree and slowly he climbed.

Until he reached the top of the tree!

This is when Flat Stanley began to sing in his high pitched lovely voice;

“There’s fortune in the furlough
On the other side
Wrap ourselves in blankets
The crossing of a bridge so wide, so high..”

He sang the word “Highhhhh” the loudest, highest and was holding that note the longest before Nana came around the corner and helped him out of the fortune tree.

Flat Stanley always manages to find trouble…sometimes I wonder if trouble doesn’t find him.  I hope his silliness made you smile today.  If so, please subscribe, so Nana can send you a smile everyday!
